Greenville South Carolina

After much confusion and changes in plans we finally got on the road to SC. First there was very little notice of this Rally which lays flat in the lap of the National Campaign Committee. With only a couple of days notice to everyone it was a scramble to round up people and notify them of Dr. Paul's appearances in South Carolina. Thankfully the Ron Paul Meetup groups took their time and energy to do this work especially Scanner Scott who stayed up all night designing flyers, printing them out, cutting them and sending out copies to others to do the same. He rallied people to go to the malls, shopping centers and streets handing out these invitations to see Dr. Paul.

It worked, all three rallies were successful and well attended. We couldn't make it to the ones in Rock Hill and Anderson but did get to Greenville. Such confusion ! First there was parking, then we were notified that everyone would have to park in a parking garage and walk to the rally? Not a chance to get this RV in a parking garage. We declined to go as it is rather a no brainer to have the RV hidden in a parking garage. Then we were notified that we had been given a permit to park in a fire lane behind the ampitheater right in front of the stage.

We arrived in Greenville and even with our GPS unit were totally lost. The address was wrong from the start. The Greenville staff had to get people on the main street with flyers and directions to the event. We had stopped at a light and were talking on the phone to Chris Lawton who was on the computer ( Google Earth) giving us directions when a crazy lady? came running up to us banging on the window.. She had seen us pass and chased us down the street to tell us where we needed to go. Poor thing was totally out of breath and gave us misguided directions, we turned and were on our way when I looked back and here is this same woman running behind us waving and yelling.. We stopped and she told us the mistake so I just opened up the door and told her "get in and show us the way": I think she was grateful for the ride.. She is a great worker and a really staunch supporter to have run all those blocks just to make sure we got to the right place. It was a nightmare getting the RV on that little fire lane road but Tim managed to do so without any scrapes or dents. I would have been stuck I am afraid had I been driving that rig.

It is hard to see the crowd but the place was packed. I would guess there were close to 2000 people at this area. Below the Asheville group holds a conference and Tim just stands there is awe at the response of the crowd to a PRAYER and the National Anthem sung by a wonderful country singer.

To my surprise the fellow in brown slacks and striped shirt came over and interviewed us about what we are doing which is hard to explain sometimes but anyway he is all the way from Belgium. He is a reporter for a large European News Group. Dr. Paul seems to be a world wide item if not state side.

Our favorite speaker The Southern Avenger again wows the crowd with his knowledge and showmanship introducing our man Dr. Ron Paul. If you ever have the opportunity to hear the Southern Avenger speak be sure to go and listen. For a young man only 33 he is so well versed in the political field and is able to make it so very interesting and funny. He is a winner and thank goodness he is on our side.

Below is Josh, we met him in Va. while we were broken down at a meet up group up there and low and behold we meet him again only now he is on the National Campaign Staff stationed in SC. He is a well dressed, well versed and very nice young man who works hard for Dr. Paul. We were happy to have him sign the RV. It is now beginning to look like a note pad with all the signatures. Hopefully we will fill every square inch with supporters signatures.

Every now and then you meet someone who just kind of clicks with you, this is one, for a while every place we went there he was, in NH, SC, Fl, NC everywhere.. then he just dissappeared and no one knew what happened to him till this past week end. Seems his wife had a problem with her heart and he just dropped out to take care of her, now Praise the Lord she is all better and he is back on the Campaign trail supporting Dr. Paul... And I will never tell that he sneaks ciggerettes from me.

As you can see the T Shirt industry is alive and well. The Wild Man is from Asheville and makes his own and does a very good job of it too.

The wonderful part of this whole campaign is the youngsters who are so energetic. This young man was in all the SC events and still had a grin on at 10 PM at night when he came to say hello to Buddy. We love these kids.

Here in Asheville NC a fellow has a LoveBug, new and shiny which he stickered with Ron Bumper stickers. I see that LuvBug all over town plus he goes to as many events as he can. Tony is a great supporter and just wanted to have the Bug signed by Dr. Paul who very happily obliged.. The grin on Dr. Pauls face was great to see when Tony drove that Bug right up on the stage for him to sign..

It is always such a great pleasure to meet people and amazing that they even know who we are or what we are doing but one lady presented me with a wonderful and useful gift. She made this great tote bag all embroidered so beautifully. I thank her so much for her time and effort and for thinking of us. I will use this bag so much and it will not wind up on EBAY.

I always kick myself when I get home and start one of these newsletters as the photos are never as good or as many as I should have taken but I get so caught up in the events I simply forget to snap a lot of times. I meet so many nice people I want to have photos of all of them but I don't seem to be able to remember so everyone that comes up and shakes my hand or just says hello, I appreciate it so much and am always in awe of these people. They come out to these events time and time again and never have a frown or angry demeanor, these are the people that will be making this country what it can and should be, and WILL BE AS SOON AS THIS ELECTION IS OVER AND WE HAVE RON PAUL IN CHARGE.

We will be leaving on Thursday of this week to go to Boston and the Tea Party, yes my goodness, those people up there have gotten special permits for us to park at the hall where the party is going to be held and made sure we have a place to park overnight. It will be a great event I am sure. This will cement Dr. Pauls name in the history books to be sure. I won't be going alone this time, Chris Moore is going to drive us again and two other couples are riding along. It will be kind of crowded but who cares, it will be so much fun on the road with help and company. This is what the Freedom Wagon was meant to do.. Just think all the hands to hand out slim jims all up the eastern seacoast , I am so excited about this event as I think it will be the straw that will break the back of the main stream news. They will not be able to ignore the Blimp plus the millions of dollars that will come into the campaign that day. What a news item, and they think Oprah draws a crowd.

We are watching the weather and barring an outright Blizzard we will be on the road. This will be an expensive trip and we will need some help. I know I have asked you all for help so many times and have always been so grateful when you responded, I feel terrible asking once again but the sales of T- Shirts, Buttons and Bracelets just don't begin to cover our costs. Most of the time we forget to even charge for the buttons and bracelets {how could you tell a child that wants a bracelet he has to pay a dollar?I can't.} and the sales of the T-Shirts barely covers their cost as the most important mission with them is to get them on people out in public. Every T-Shirt that is worn is seen be a lot of people which is good advertising.
